We all need a tool kit to live!
Working as a professional photographer has been on my mind for long time. My first professional photographic gig happened some days ago with the MOS - Museum of Sydney. Luck strikes and hard work combined with great images finally paid off.
This all did not come easy - 5 years developing a self funded photographic project - Blinkingimpressions.com - working as a volunteer with the Australian Centre of Photography, some times doing it the hard way, like cleaning floors and putting up with rude and arrogant curators.
But this post is more about how the changes and in's and out's of life impact on us . When you choose to jump around, travel and abdicate routine you have to be prepared to take all that comes with it. This involves giving up or losing some friends along the way, being financially in the red (eternally) and almost never connecting deeply with your family again. Also, you became hated by any potential employer who refuse to give you a job in any circumstances. Including Flickr - You would think that web company's are different - but no, they are as bad as the other ones.
On Tuesday we are back to up in the air and off to Brazil. Now not alone as Olivia - darling Olivia, is coming with us! 3 months old and lots of stories to tell.
Tool Kit - in my one I carry courage, faith in the universe, love, smiles and humour. ah - and Kimbo but only for emergencies. Nappies too - lots of nappies
